LD Dodgers Baseball Club secured their fourth win in the ongoing Ghana National Baseball League with an emphatic 22–7 victory over Tema Giant Hitters at the Koshien Baseball Field in Labone.
The La-based side, who introduced two experienced players (Kofi Frimpong and Boakye Boateng) in the Week 6 clash, showed dominance once again, though the Giant Hitters displayed significant improvement compared to their previous 23–0 loss.
The game began with the Hitters making two early runs through Yussif Armo and Sheriff Mohammed, before the Dodgers quickly responded with five runs. The Hitters doubled their tally in the second innings with Philip Ochire, Gideon Atsu, William, and Andrews Lanyo adding to the scoreline, while LD maintained an 8–6 lead.
A pitching switch from Godwin Tetteh to Frank Opoku proved decisive for LD Dodgers, as Opoku’s delivery saw the first three batters dismissed at the top of the third innings. The Dodgers capitalized, adding a massive 14 runs to extend their lead to 22–6.
The Hitters made a final attempt in the fourth innings with Andrews Lanyo scoring after a missed throw, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a mercy rule defeat as the Dodgers triumphed 22–7.
Runs for LD Dodgers came from Jerry Dovlo, Francis Okoe, Bernard Kumson, Alex Koranteng, Yemo Ofoli, Lawrence Baffour, Godwin Tetteh, Edmund Ackom, Kofi FrimPong, and Boakye Boateng.
Earlier in the day, Tema Tigers completed a clean sweep over Shai Osudoku Hawks, edging them 8–6 in a thrilling encounter.
The Tigers’ consistency was driven by performances from Kwame Addison, Desmond Duodu, Daniel Atiemo, and Samuel Baah, while the Hawks fought back through Maxwell Owusu, Kwaku Alaglo, and Rans Ohene Appiah but fell short in the final innings.
The Tigers remain top of the table with 18 points and a +45 run difference after six matches. LD Dodgers follow with 12 points and +55 runs from five games, while Shai Osudoku Hawks sit third with three points and a -13 run difference. Tema Giant Hitters occupy the bottom spot with no points and -86 runs after six matches.
Week 7 will feature a much-anticipated clash between Tema Tigers and LD Dodgers on Saturday, November 15, 2025, followed by Shai Osudoku Hawks facing Tema Giant Hitters.
