The Ho Sports Stadium will see handball lovers, players and fans converge to entertain themselves in a two-day Asogli Yam Festival Handball Gala on September 2 and 3, 2023.
Orgainsed by the Ho Stars Handball Club and in collaboration with the Volta Regional Handball Association and the Asogli State, the second edition of the Gala promises to be an improvement of last year’s edition.
The 2-day event is scheduled to begin at 6am each day, with a round robin format for both male and female teams.
Three female teams, Ephors Handball Club from Nkwanta, Breakers Handball Club from Dambai and host Ho Stars Handball Club will battle it out for supremacy and bragging rights, as well as Trophy and cash prize.
There are four male teams; Ephors, Breakers, Ho Stars and Handball Gurus from Hohoe and it is going to be 6 great matches which will see the blocks, the jumps, the holding and the fast breaks.
Having had a successful Gala last year, the second edition has Kristar water Company, WYA GROUP, Roeliza Water Company, Patmoor Fashion Home, Manacura Bar, Hailwise Solutions Enclave as sponsors, plus other individual supporters.
The Ho Handball Club on August 4, hosted Legonite Handball Club in a friendly to mark the Founders Day, at the Ho Sports Stadium and are poised to keep the flying game active in the region, while producing talents for the national teams.
